Lisa Cherry was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Digital Media in November 2015.
Cherry oversees Mercer’s branding through graphic design, broadcasting and video initiatives that support Mercer Athletics. She also provides oversight of Mercer Video Productions and video board experiences.
A Waterville, Ohio native, Cherry joined Mercer as Director of New Media in 2014. She has played an integral role in maximizing visibility of the department through the ESPN3 broadcasting initiative, creating posters and graphic materials, and leading the creation of Mercer Video Productions to engage and teach students about broadcasting and video production. She also has re-vamped the video board productions within Hawkins Arena and Five Star Stadium.
Prior to joining Mercer, Cherry spent two years at Kennesaw State University as Creative Services Coordinator. At Kennesaw State, Cherry was an integral part in launching the department’s ESPN3 program, graphic design, and rebranding initiatives. Prior to Kennesaw State, Cherry also served as a marketing assistant at Wofford College.
Cherry earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Bluffton University in 2007, before completing a master's degree from Georgia State University.
