Alex Collier enters his first season with the Mercer Bears in the fall of 2021 after spending a season at Finlandia University and two seasons with the Carroll University Pioneers. Prior to Carroll, Collier coach at Westside High School in Florida where he coached the cornerbacks. He also coached the defensive backs at his alma-mater, First Coast High School. Collier has also worked with the football team at Jacksonville University. Collier graduated from Troy University in 2018 where he was a defensive student assistant working with the cornerbacks (2017-2018). Prior to being a student assistant, Collier worked as an assistant video coordinator, as well as with the director of player personnel. As a member of Troy University football team Collier was able to be a part of two bowl games (Dollar General Bowl and New Orleans Bowl) as well as two sun-belt championship teams.He earned a bachelors in multimedia journalism in 2018 and a masters in strategic communications in 2020.
