Ali Trani is in her first season as the Director of Player Personnel and Operations for Mercer women's basketball for the 2022-23 season.
She came to Mercer after one season as an assistant coach at Washington College during the 2021-22 season.
As the Director of Player Personnel, Trani coordinates all aspects of travel including lodging, transportation, team itineraries, food, and away practice/game management. She manages and oversees the team’s budget as well as provides on court coaching and skill development and assists in scouting opponents.Â
Trani played collegiate basketball at UNC Asheville. During her four year career, she was a two-time Big South Conference Tournament Champion and Big South regular season champion. She was a part of back-to-back NCAA Tournament teams with UNC Asheville.
Trani graduated from UNC Asheville in 2019 with a BS in Health and Wellness Promotion. She earned her masters degree from Mercer in 2021 in Higher Education Leadership.

She executes and plans the women's basketball team's Elite, Team, and Day Camps which are held over the summer. Additional responsibilities include administering and supervising the team's graduate assistants and managers.Â
Trani had experience with Mercer prior to joining the team in 2022, as she served as a graduate assistant with the team from 2019-2021. As a graduate assistant she aided the assistant coaches in organizing, recruiting, and developing the women's basketball players. She also evaluated recruits via film and organized the team's recruiting database through ARMS.Trani played collegiate basketball at UNC Asheville.
