A standout basketball player at both the junior college and NCAA Division II levels, Hannah Wentworth begins her first year in athletic administration in 2024-25 as a Student-Athlete Support Specialist for the Bears.
Wentworth turned in a phenomenal collegiate career that spanned appearances at both Utah State Eastern, a junior college situated in southwest Utah, as well as perennial Sunshine State Conference (NCAA Division II) powerhouse Eckerd. While in Price, Utah, Wentworth proved key to a bevy of success by the Eagles during the 2020-21 campaign, including 16 victories and an appearance in the NJCAA Region 18 Tournament.
The Auckland, New Zealand product played in 83 games (58 starts) across three seasons (2021-24) in St. Petersburg, Fla., and averaged 10.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in more than 28 minutes of action on the floor. She was an everyday starter for the Tritons across each of her last two seasons, including a junior campaign that watched her shoot nearly 43 percent from the floor and average 12.0 points an outing. Eckerd rattled off a 67-23 clip during her time in central Florida, including an appearance in the 2023 NCAA Division II Sweet 16.
Committed to a developing the game of basketball in her native New Zealand, Wentworth overlapped her senior season at Eckerd with a stint as an assistant coach with the North Harbour Basketball organization which traveled to schools across Auckland in order to give aspiring young women the opportunity to learn the game during their lunch break.
Wentworth tackled a role as an event management student intern during the 2022-23 athletics season and, following her sophomore campaign with the Tritons, returned home to serve as a counselor with Flaxhill Camps.
A 2024 graduate of Eckerd with a bachelor’s degree in human development, Wentworth is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at Mercer.
