Josh Pike joins the Mercer baseball coaching staff in the summer of 2026 after spending the previous three seasons at San Jose State in a similar position.
Under Pike's leadership, the Spartans' pitching staff struck out 1,157 batters over 1,446.2 innings. Pike produced four All-MWC arms, including Dylan Smith (2026 First Team), Tyler Albanese (2025 Second Team), Ethan Ross (2024 Second Team) and Micky Thompson (2024 Second Team).
Pike began his coaching career at North Carolina State, where he began as a graduate assistant before being named the Assistant Pitching Coach in 2020. During Pike's stint in Raleigh, NC State's stable put together an impressive resume:

- 3 Pitchers named to All-ACC Third Team
- Evan Justice received Third Team All-America honors from Perfect Game and D1Baseball
- Dominic Fritton received ACC All-Freshman honors and was a consensus Freshman All-American
- Sam Highfill and Chris Villaman were chosen to the 2021 USA Collegiate National Team
- College World Series appearance in 2021
