MACON, Ga – Two Bears were recognized late Sunday for their performances at the Phyllis Rafter Memorial over the weekend. Junior Emi Sherrill and freshman Sarah Santana were named to the All-Tournament Team as selected by the host school Kennesaw State.
Both players had multi-home run games in helping the Bears to a 3-2 overall record in the tournament. Sherrill went 5-for-14 with two home runs and five RBI. Santana had an impressive performance going 7-for-14 with three homeruns and 12 RBI.
“Sherrill showcased what we know she can do and Santana put into practice what we expect from her,” Raynor said.
The two combined for 17 of the team's 27 runs over the three-day event and will factor in as a major trouble spot for opposing pitchers in the middle part of the lineup throughout the season.
Santana is leading the Bears in batting average, RBI and homeruns. Sherrill is second on the team in RBI, homeruns and hits.
