CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Sixth-seeded East Tennessee State erupted for seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings to help support right-hander Eden Muncy's first career no-hitter as the Buccaneers eliminated seventh-seeded Mercer from the 2026 Southern Conference Tournament with a 7-0 win over the Bears on Thursday afternoon.

The setback capped the 2026 season for Mercer (20-30) who is slated to return 18 letterwinners (eight starting position players) next season. The Buccaneers (22-28) used the decision to advance to the double elimination portion of the league championship.

KEY INNINGS
BOT 4	Whitney Boone (walk) and Leinani Lutu (infield single) both reached safely to start the fourth, and East Tennessee State moved both runners into scoring position via a sacrifice bunt from Tiare Rieger. Riley Croley's RBI single one pitch later gave the Bucs the lead for good, but ETSU took a 2-0 advantage into the fifth on a suicide squeeze with the ensuing at-bat.
