Bears Doubleheader at Georgia Tech Cancelled Due to Severe Weather

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer softball team's Wednesday doubleheader at Georgia Tech was cancelled as announced by Mercer softball head coach Mike Raynor earlier today.
The games which had been added to the original 2011 schedule were expendable due to a severe thunderstorm forecast that included the chance of tornados in the Atlanta area today. These same storms have already caused extensive damage across the south and are projected to reach the Atlanta area later this evening.
The Bears now turn their attention squarely on their postseason aspirations with their final A-Sun Conference games this Saturday against in-state rival Kennesaw St. The Owls head to Sikes Field for a 2 p.m. first pitch on Saturday.
