
Softball Hosts Jacksonville in Conference Matchup

Last Time Out
The Mercer women's softball team split with FAMU on Wednesday.
In the first game of the day, Mercer lost 7-4 to the Lady Rattlers. The Mercer bats were kept quiet by pitcher Jennifer Lindsey as the Lady Rattlers outhit the Bears 9-5 on the day.
Sophomore Molly Garmany had two RBIs in the losing effort.
In the second game of the day, the Bears were finally able to break out the bats in a 9-1 ousting of the Lady Rattlers.
Senior Sarah Santana went a perfect three-for-three on the day with four RBIs.
Freshman Marissa Botz went two-for-three on the day adding two RBIs of her own.
Scouting the Dolphins
Jacksonville currently ranks fifth in A-Sun play right behind the fourth place Bears.
The Dolphins rank third in the conference in batting average with .296.
Jacksonville's powerful offense leads the conference in homeruns behind the hitting power of Sarah Simon, who has 11 homeruns already this season.
Ace pitcher for the Dolphins, Cecile Gomez, boasts an impressive 1.92 earned run average.
Game times for Friday's doubleheader are 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m.
