QUOTABLES
"It was a great contest today with two heavyweights in the SoCon battling it out for 90 minutes. I felt today we created more chances; statistically, we were very good today. Unfortunately for us, Samford, to their credit, put a chance away and we didn't. We had three of four great chances and that was the difference in the match today - that they put one away and we didn't. Overall, I'm happy with our players' effort; now we have to get a little more composed and clinical in front of the goal and hopefully put a chance away and get a different result." – Head Coach Tony Economopoulos.
RECORDS UPDATE
Mercer moves to 5-5-2 (2-1 SoCon) on the season, while Samford improved to 9-4 (4-0 SoCon).

Mercer will hit the road to face ETSU on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7:00 p.m. in Johnson City, Tenn.
