Softball to Host The Elite Softball Clinics on Jan. 16-17

REGISTRATION FORM

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer softball team is set to host The Elite Softball Clinics on Jan. 16 and 17 at Sikes Field.

The clinic runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and consists of four sessions on Saturday and another four sessions on Sunday. Individuals will have the opportunity to gain instruction from the Mercer Softball coaching staff and players in the areas of pitching or catching; hitting and slapping; defense (infield or outfield); as well as a game simulation showcase to wrap up each day. The clinic will also feature a new focus for each session to provide well-rounded instruction on all areas of softball fundamentals.

The event is open to all participants ages 12 to 18 and costs $65 for a single session, $120 for two sessions, $150 for three sessions, $180 for four sessions, $225 for five sessions, $240 for six sessions, $280 for seven sessions, and $300 for all eight sessions. Only a limited number of spots for the camp are available.

January 16th
8:30am-10:00am			Pitching OR Catching During the pitching session, pitchers will focus on proper mechanics, work on movement pitches, increasing velocity, and the mental aspects of pitching. *Each pitcher MUST bring their own catcher* (These catchers will not have to pay) The catchers' session will include work on the mechanics of receiving, framing, blocking, transitions, throwing, footwork, and how to set up a batter (pitch calling).

10:30am-12:30pm			Hitting/Slapping The hitting and slapping session will focus on all aspects of fundamental mechanics including increasing power, bat speed, proper balance and footwork, and the mental aspects of hitting

1:30pm – 3:00pm			Defense (Infield or Outfield) The defensive session will work on positional breakdown, proper mechanics and footwork, angles, glove work, throwing, and situational instruction.

3:30pm-5:30pm			Game Simulation Showcase Showcase your entire game. You will be put on teams to play full game speed. Pitching, Hitting, Defense and Base Running.
