Softball's Saturday Doubleheader Postponed, Sunday Schedule Adjusted

MACON, Ga. - Due to heavy rainfall in the Macon area, the Mercer University softball team's twinbill with Andrew College on Saturday, Sept. 26, has been postponed until a later date. The Bears will still take on Georgia Highland on Sunday with the doubleheader at Sikes Field now starting at 3 p.m.
Mercer was on the brink of a league title in its inaugural season in the conference in 2015, compiling a 37-22 overall record and a 10-7 mark in the league. The Bears carried their regular season success to the 2015 SoCon Championship game, using three shutout victories to come within two runs of the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance.
The Bears' fall schedule, not including the impending rescheduled series with Andrew, features four other scrimmages, as South Georgia State and Georgia Military College come to Macon on Oct. 10-11 during Family Weekend.
Admission for each Mercer scrimmage this fall is free.
