COACH DRINKARD'S TAKE
"It was fun to see the team step up today and finish strong. You can really see each player improve in areas that I have challenged them to get better. Their drive to compete is very evident and I'm looking forward to our next tournament at UNCG."
MERCER NOTABLES
- Janiga lowered her Southern Conference-leading stroke average to 71.33 with her second straight Top-10 finish. The freshman had four birdies in the final round to push her team-high tally to 12 for the tournament.
- Schanen wrapped up her best collegiate tournament, finishing just 1-over-par for the week en route to her second Top-20 placing of the year.
- Mercer ranked 10th among the 18-team field with 159 holes of par, while tallying 30 birdies on the week.
- The Bears averaged 3.22 strokes on par-3 holes, while posting average scores of 4.29 (par-4) and 5.35 (par-5) on Monday.
JANIGA ON ANOTHER TOP-1O FINISH
"This weekend our team showed me that we can get through some tough holes a lot easier with the support of each other. I don't think I would've played the way I did without my team's support."
SCHANEN ON ANOTHER STRONG TOURNAMENT
"It felt good getting two rounds under-par at this tournament. In the past I really struggled with my distance wedges and since coming to Mercer I have made tremendous progress and it really showed. I loved how supportive my teammates were of each other which made the round a little more enjoyable. There were a lot of positives to take from this tournament and I'm very excited for what the future holds."
