Mercer Remains Atop SoCon Tables with 1-0 Win

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Roberto Arteaga took advantage of a mistake by Furman's Max Fisher as he intercepted a pass and scored the match's only goal in Mercer's 1-0 win over the Paladins Tuesday night at Stone Stadium in Greenville.
The win gives Mercer (12-5, 7-2 SoCon) a league-best 21 points in SoCon play, just one ahead of ETSU, who edged UNCG Tuesday evening in Johnson City, Tennessee. That sets up a de facto regular season championship game when the Bears host the Bucs at Bear Field on ESPN3 in Macon, Georgia on Saturday at 7 p.m.
