KENNESAW, Ga. – The Mercer University women's golf team climbed three spots up the leaderboard on the final day of the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate, finishing in a tie for eighth place.

THE BEARS IN THE TEAM STANDINGS
Mercer saved its best round of the tournament for Tuesday's final 18 holes, carding a 305 to move up three spots for its seventh Top-10 finish of the season. Texas Tech, ranked 26th nationally, won the event, while Augusta and Illinois rounded out the top three.
MERCER SPOTLIGHT
Janiga led the charge on Tuesday, finishing 1-over with a 73 for her best round of the tournament. The freshman moved up 16 places on the individual leaderboard during the final round thanks to a team-high four birdies on the day.
MERCER NOTABLES
- The Bears finished with 21 birdies in the tournament, as 10 of those came during the final round of action. Janiga paced the team with seven on the week, while Deems and Tindal added six apiece.
- Janiga's 15th-place finish marks the fourth time this season that she has finished among the top 20 competitors.
- Schanen ranked seventh in the tournament with 35 holes with a score of par, while Janiga was close behind with 33 holes of par.
- Tindal and Janiga ranked among the tournament's leaders on Par-5 holes, as each finished 1-under on the week.
