
Men's Tennis Falls to Furman, 5-2

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer University men's tennis team fell to Furman on Saturday afternoon, 5-2.
Furman took a 1-0 lead in the match after winning the doubles point. The Paladins went up 2-0 after a singles win at flight three.
Anderson Scarpa put Mercer on the board with a 6-2, 6-4 win at flight four, but Furman answered with a win at flight five to go up 3-1.
Fernando Guardia picked up a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 win at flight six to make it 3-2 overall. Furman clinched the match with a win at flight one and moved the final score to 5-2 after winning at flight two as well.
The Bears will play in the Southern Conference Tournament starting April 22 in Chattanooga, Tenn. Mercer will be the No. 4 seed in the tournament.
