Mercer Men's Golf Completes Round Two of SoCon Championship

PINEHURST, N.C. – The Mercer University men's golf team played the second round at SoCon Championship on Monday. The Bears turned in a score of 315 (+27) in the 18 holes. The tournament is being played on Pinehurst No. 9, a Jack Nicklaus Signature course.

THE BEARS IN THE TEAM STANDINGS
Mercer's two-day score of 618 (42-over) placed the team in eighth in the SoCon field. The Bears enter the final round of play nine shots outside of seventh. Wofford is the leader in the clubhouse through 36 holes with a score of even par. ETSU is in second (1-over) and UNCG is third (5-over).
COACH KAYDEN'S TAKE
"We had a very difficult round on the course today. We were not able to recover from some bad holes or consecutive bogeys and struggled with keeping the ball in play off the tee. The guys need to forget about it and make a solid effort tomorrow in the final round."
