MACON, Ga. – The Mercer University men's and women's tennis teams have each earned the ITA All-Academic Team Award for the 2015-16 academic year, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association this week. Additionally, seven student-athletes have earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status.
Â
The men's team has earned the ITA All-Academic Team Award for each of the last three seasons and Nicolas Guillon, Arnav Mohanty, Arsav Mohanty and Sam Philp have all been named ITA Scholar-Athletes. This is the third consecutive year in which Arnav Mohanty and Arsav Mohanty earned Scholar-Athlete status and it is the second straight year for Philp.
Â
The women's team has earned the All-Academic Team Award in two of the last three years, while Roxy Bartz, Xandra Fougner and Katie Sidor were awarded Scholar-Athlete status. This is the third consecutive Scholar-Athlete honor for Bartz.
Â
Mercer joins Chattanooga, ETSU and Samford as the only teams in the Southern Conference to earn All-Academic Team awards on both the men's and women's sides. The Furman and Western Carolina women's teams also earned All-Academic Team Awards.
