Mercer Concludes Fall at Pinetree Intercollegiate

Bears coming off fourth-place finish at APSU Intercollegiate
UPDATE: The Pinetree Intercollegiate has been cut to 36 holes due to heavy rains forecasted for Monday morning, Kennesaw State officials announced Sunday evening. Teams will play 18 holes Monday beginning with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The tournament will conclude with 18 holes Tuesday.

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's golf team will wrap up its five-tournament fall slate with a short trip north to Kennesaw, Ga., where it will compete in the Pinetree Intercollegiate on Oct. 23-24.

Former ASUN rival Kennesaw State will host the 11-team tournament at the Pinetree Country Club. The Owls have won four of the five Pinetree Intercollegiate titles since its inaugural year (2012). Mercer has competed in the Pinetree Intercollegiate each of the last two seasons, finishing seventh (2016) and 10th (2015).

Mercer is coming off a fourth-place finish at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate in Dickson, Tenn., where Spencer Ball (T-4th) and Jerry Ren (T-11th) claimed top-11 finishes individually.

"The guys will be well prepared for this event coming off a solid final round in Tennessee last week," said head coach Kirk Kayden. "I feel very good about this week with many of our guys knowing this course well. Keeping the ball in play and putting well will be important aspects this week."
