
Mercer to Host 11-Team Field at Idle Hour Collegiate Championship

The Bears look to defend their 2016 title on Monday, Tuesday
MACON, Ga. – Mercer will seek to defend its title at the second annual Idle Hour Collegiate Championship at Idle Hour Golf & Country Club over 54 holes on Monday and Tuesday. The tournament is sponsored by Craniofacial Pain & Dental Sleep Center of Georgia.

The Bears conclude their 2017 fall season as they host 10 teams that make up a competitive 11-team field. Mercer claimed the inaugural Idle Hour Collegiate Championship last year, shooting 33-over-par (897) with three Bears finishing inside the top-11 individually.

Admission to the two-day tournament is free of charge.

MERCER LINEUP
Mercer welcomes an impressive field including the likes of Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky, Elon, Georgia Southern, James Madison, North Florida, Rutgers, Samford, Troy and Western Kentucky. Six of the teams – Cincinnati, Rutgers, Samford, James Madison, Troy and Western Kentucky – competed in the inaugural Idle Hour Collegiate Championship last fall.

TEE TIMES & PAIRINGS
Mercer and the rest of the field will tee off at 8:45 a.m. Monday with a shotgun start. The field will play 36 holes of continuous play Monday, followed by a final 18 holes Tuesday, starting at 8:45 a.m. with another shotgun start.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
All 11 teams will select one individual representative to participate in the Mizuno Par 3 Shoot-Out on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the A.J. "Duck" Swann, Jr. Memorial Par 3 Course in Macon. Players will play the ball down from the Gold tees and can have a teammate caddie.
