Lawrence knocked down a season-high 28 points
BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Following an Alex Williams put-back layup to pull Mercer within one, KeKe Calloway comes up with a critical inbounds steal to give Mercer the chance to take the lead with just eight seconds left. Calloway finds Kahlia Lawrence who then dishes the ball to Sydni Means at the elbow. Means pulls up for the shot…BANG!! The Mercer faithful erupts as Means' shot proved to be the game-winner with the Bears winning the battle in Buies Creek over Campbell, 58-57.

STAT OF THE GAME
Mercer entered the final quarter down by nine but outscored the Camels 19-9 in the final frame to walk out of Gore Arena with the victory. The Bears held Campbell to just one made field goal in the final quarter.

PLAYER OF THE GAME
Kahlia Lawrence buried a season-high 28 points on a season-high 11 made field goals. Lawrence's efforts kept the Bears within striking distance throughout the contest. The standout senior also had a hand in the game-winning basket, dishing the ball to Means for the open jumper.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bears scored first in the opening quarter as Lawrence banked home a jumper from inside the arc for the early 2-0 lead. Mercer jumped out to an 8-4 advantage before the Camels closed the quarter on a 10-3 run to take the three-point lead after the first stanza.

Campbell scored first in the second quarter to extend its lead to five. Mercer could not claw any closer, trailing by as many as 10 points with just over three minutes to play in the first half. The Bears ended the half on a high note as Amanda Thompson's jumper capped off a 7-2 run to bring Mercer back to within five, 31-26.

The Bears clawed into the Campbell lead in the third quarter, eventually claiming a 37-35 advantage with 3:36 left in the quarter. The Camels responded with 13 unanswered points before Lawrence knocked down a pair of free throws to cut the deficit back to single digits. Lawrence buried 11 of Mercer's 13 points in the third quarter.

The final quarter of play proved to be riddled with thrills. Campbell knocked down a pair of free throws with 3:35 remaining in the game to reclaim the nine-point edge over the Bears. From that point on, the comeback was in motion. Mercer scored six unanswered points to trim the deficit to just three with 2:11 left. Later in the quarter, Campbell's Summer Price knocked down a triple to extend the Camels' advantage to five with 1:26 in regulation. In the final 1:02, Mercer knocked down six unanswered points to grasp hold of the one-point lead, including two baskets in six seconds. The Bears' defense then forced a difficult shot from Price that landed out of bounds to give Mercer the ball with one tick left on the clock. That was all she wrote as the Bears successfully inbounded the ball and let the clock strike zero, capping off an incredible come-from-behind victory.
