Bears Set For Saturday Match Against Panthers

MACON, Ga. – Mercer, which is on a four-match win streak, is on the road again as the Bears will face Georgia State on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Atlanta.

Mercer is on an interesting streak, having won each of its last four matches by a score of 6-1. The Bears are 2-3 on the road this season, with all three losses coming to teams ranked in the top 15 nationally.

Marie Mottet, Katie Sidor and Katia Stavroulaki are all on a four-match win streak in singles play. Sidor is 7-2 on the year at flight three, while Stavroulaki is 6-2 at flight one. In doubles play, Sidor and Anna Sovic are leading the way with a 7-4 record at flight two and are on a four-match win streak as a duo, while Grace Korta and Stavroulaki are 6-3 and on a three-match win streak at flight one.

Georgia State will be playing a doubleheader on Saturday, as the Panthers will face Southern Mississippi at 10 a.m. before taking on the Bears. The Panthers have lost their last two matches, falling to Mississippi State and ETSU. In addition to the 4-3 loss to ETSU, Georgia State has faced another Southern Conference team, defeating Samford 7-0.
