CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Back-to-back big innings for Austin Peay created a deficit too big to overcome Saturday afternoon at Raymond C. Hand Park in Clarksville as Mercer fell, 14-4, to even the series at one game apiece.

Austin Peay (6-4) scored five runs in the third inning and followed that with four runs in the fourth to push the game out of reach.

The rubber game between the two teams is set for Sunday at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT.

Matt Meeder, hitting in the leadoff spot in a different batting order for the Bears, went 2-for-3 in the game.
