Mercer Falls to UNF in Regular Season Finale

Bears will be the No. 2 seed in next week’s ASUN Tournament
CONWAY, S.C. – A 4-1 loss to North Florida snapped Mercer's three-match win streak and concluded the 2017 regular season Saturday morning at the Coastal Carolina Beach Volleyball Courts.
Despite the ASUN Conference loss, Mercer finished the regular season at 14-10 (7-3 ASUN) while setting program records for overall and conference win totals. The Bears will be the No. 2 seed in next weekend's ASUN Tournament in DeLand, Florida. It is their highest tournament seeding in program history.
Tori Penrod and Emily Krogman picked up Mercer's lone win of the match in straight sets, 21-14 and 21-12, at the No. 2 seed. It was the first time Penrod/Krogman have played outside of the No. 1 all season. Emma Peel/Sophie Peel and Claire Waliczek/Danielle Faust both took three sets to fall in the No. 1 and 4 seeds, respectively. Waliczek and Faust's battle went down to the wire, with UNF pulling out a 18-16 win in the third set.

PAIR OF THE MATCH
Penrod and Krogman won in straight sets to finish the regular season with a team-best 16-8 overall record. It is the most wins in a single season for Penrod and Krogman as a pairing.
