
Mercer in Fourth, Hanna Sixth after Opening Round of SoCon Championship

LEXINGTON S.C. – Mercer put two golfers in the top 10 and the Bears are in fourth place on the team leaderboard as the first round of action came to a close at the 2017 Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship at the Country Club of Lexington in South Carolina.
Senior Marin Hanna led the way for Mercer at 2-over-par 74 and is tied for sixth following the tournament's opening round. Freshman Tiffany Minji Kang was one stroke back at 3-over-par 75, tied for 10th on the individual leaderboard. All five Mercer golfers are in the top 20.
Mercer finished the day in fourth place at 15-over-par 303 overall, just three strokes back of second place Chattanooga (+12). Only six strokes separate teams in second through fifth place.
