Bears Head to Toledo for Inverness Intercollegiate

First of two straight trips to Ohio for the Bears
TOLEDO, Ohio – Mercer's men's golf team returns to action Monday at the Inverness Intercollegiate, hosted by University of Toledo at the Inverness Club. The second event of the fall schedule will pit Mercer against a talented field throughout the two-day, 54-hole event (36 holes Monday, 18 holes Tuesday).
Mercer is paired with St. Mary's (Calif.) and Northern Illinois for the first and second rounds Monday.
The Inverness Club was founded in 1903 and along with the University of Toledo served as host for the 2009 NCAA Men's Golf Championships. Inverness will be the site of the 2021 Solheim Cup and has also hosted four U.S. Opens, two U.S. Senior Opens, two PGA Championships and one U.S. Amateur.

Coach Kayden's Take
"We had some good things happen in the first event of our fall season and weneed to build on that," said head coach Kirk Kayden. "Inverness is a PGA Tour-quality golf course and we'll have to manage our ball well to be successful. It is a very strong field and we'll need to be very competitive and confident."
