
Women’s Tennis Heads to Atlanta for ITA Regionals this Weekend

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team will head to the capital city to compete in the 2018 ITA Southeast Regionals this weekend. The tournament will be held at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex from Oct. 18-22.
Mercer will join athletes from 14 different schools. The singles and doubles champions from each of the ITA Division I Regional Championships held across the country receive automatic entry into the 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships. The 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships will be held Nov. 7-11 at the Sunrise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona.
All matches in Qualifying will be held on Thursday with two rounds of singles and one round of doubles. There will not be a Qualifying Consolation. The Main Draw features a 64 singles players draw and 32 doubles teams draw. There will be a consolation round for first and second round losers in the Main Draw.
Doubles play will begin Thursday morning at 9 a.m. followed by singles action at 10 a.m.
