MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Bears' women's tennis team will return to action, hosting Ball State and Savannah State this Wednesday, March 7, at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.

Scouting the Cardinals
Ball State enters Wednesday's matchup holding a 5-4 overall mark. The Cardinals are currently on a two-match losing skid, most recently falling, 5-2, to Youngstown State (2/24/18). Ball State has been impressive in Muncie, Ind. this season (4-1), yet has struggled away from home with a 1-3 road record. The Cardinals are led by their lone senior, Julia Sbircea. Max Norris is in his fifth season at the helm, holding an impressive 80-26 overall mark.

Scouting the Tigers
Savannah State (0-6) will enter Wednesday's match searching for their first win on the season. The squad is coming off a 6-1 loss to Appalachian State in their most recent outing (3/5/18). Rachida El Kateb is the lone senior on the team, as the Tigers' are full of young faces with four freshman. Mercer last met Savannah State on Feb. 19, 2017, sweeping the Tigers, 7-0. Carolina Lainez is in her second year at the helm of Savannah State.
