
Mercer Set for Annual Tip-Off and Orange and White Game

MACON, Ga. --Â Mercer fans will get the chance to preview the 2018-19 edition of the Bears' men's basketball team at the annual Basketball Tip-Off Event and Orange and White Game, on Sunday, Oct. 28 beginning at 12 p.m. The event will be at Hawkins Arena and is sponsored by Five Star Automotive and Smith, Brown and Groover, Inc.
Tickets for the fan-friendly event are $20 for adults and $10 for youth, 14-and-under.
The men's squad, coached by Bob Hoffman, will be on hand to visit with the fans, toss out T-shirts, distribute raffle prizes, and participate in fun and games with the fans. In addition, the Mercer squad will be holding a "garage sale" in which game-worn jerseys along with other items will be auctioned off. Free food will also be available for those in attendance.
Following the tip-off activities, fans will get a first glance at the new look Mercer roster as the team competes in their annual intersquad Orange and White Game. The scrimmage is set to begin at 2 p.m. Admission to the Orange and White Game is free to the general public, with doors opening at 1:45 p.m.

Sponsorship opportunities for fans and businesses are available. These sponsorships include a $200 "Basket" Sponsorship that includes a sign for your business, recognition on the Hawkins Arena video board and four Tip-Off Event tickets. A $500 "Slam Dunk" Sponsorship includes a sign for your business, recognition on the Hawkins Arena video board, four Tip-Off Event tickets, and the sponsorship of 50 local area underprivileged children to come to the Tip-Off Event. Sponsorship checks should be made payable to Mercer University with "Tip-Off Event" listed in the memo line and can be mailed to the Mercer Basketball Office, 1501 Mercer University Dr., Macon, Ga. 31207.
"Combining the Tip-Off and Orange and White Game is a new format that we are extremely excited about this year," Coach Hoffman said. "It will be a great family atmosphere filled with fun, food and fellowship."
