Steele Awarded SoCon Setter of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. –Mercer volleyball's Nya Steele was named the Southern Conference Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week for the matches played from October 7- October 13.

Steele, a sophomore from Clemmons, N.C., has recorded 334 assists on the season. She ranks in the top 10 of the SoCon in assists averaging 7.77 per set. In Wednesday's match against Chattanooga, she tied her second highest assists record of her Mercer career with 44. Her highest was 49 against New Orleans. She also recorded a season high four kills in the match against Chattanooga.

Steele and the Bears will head to South Carolina this Friday to go head to head against Furman at 6 p.m. They will then head to UNCG for a match on Saturday at 4 p.m.
