
Mercer Sweeps Chattanooga in Last Road Matchup

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.  – The Mercer Bears volleyball team went 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-20) Wednesday night against the Chattanooga Mocs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set One (25-20) |Â The Bears scored the first two points of the set from a block by Alexia Morey and a kill by Brittany Major. Mercer would go on a 6-0 run early in the set behind two Brittany Major kills and four Mocs errors. The Bears would score the last five points to take the set.Â

Set Two (26-24) |The second set included 18 ties and six lead changes. The Bears would score the first three points. Jaida Howell recorded four kills and a block. It would be a back and forth battle, but the Bears would take the set.Â

Set Three (25-20) |Â Chattanooga would score five of the first seven points. The Bears would go on a 6-0 run to take the lead. Annie Karle would record five kills including the match point. Mercer would sweep the Mocs for the second time this season.Â

The Bears will come home next weekend to host UNCG and Furman for their last two home matches of the season. Mercer will host their senior night on Saturday, November 16 against Furman. Both matches are set for 3 p.m.Â
