Toledo Jr. Earns Scholar All-South Region Honors

MACON, Ga. – Mercer Men's Soccer redshirt junior midfielder Leo Toledo Jr. was named a Scholar All-South Region student-athlete by the United Soccer Coaches, continuing the impressive streak of postseason honors by the Bears.

Toledo Jr. was tabbed to the Scholar All-South Region Third Team, marking the 13^th player during head coach Brad Ruzzo's 12-year tenure to be recognized with United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-South Region honors.

Student-athletes receiving Scholar All-Region recognition at the NCAA Division I level must own a 3.30 grade point average, start more than 50 percent of all games with significant contribution and be a junior or above in academic standing.

This is the first Scholar All-South Region honor for the Georgia native. Toledo Jr. finished the season eighth in the Southern Conference in assists (5) and tenth in points (13). He tallied four goals and five assists this season. His points (13) and assists (5) were second on the team while his four goals were third. He earned 2019 SoCon All-Tournament and Second Team All-SoCon honors this season.
