Mercer Men Shift Focus to Tiger Invitational

OPELIKA, Ala. – The Mercer men's golf team will compete in the Auburn-hosted Tiger Invitational, hosted by Jason Dufner, at the Grand National Lake Course on Feb. 24-26.

Mercer is coming off a runner-up finish at the Martin Downs Collegiate in Palm City, Fla. two weeks ago and will face a strong 15-team field over 54 holes in Opelika this week. The Bears' five golfers will tee off on Sunday from 9-9:40 a.m. (ET) and will be paired with Lipscomb and UNCW.

"We're coming off a solid first tournament this spring and we're looking to build upon the progress we've made," said head coach Kirk Kayden. "This course sets up very well for our players and I'm confident in their ability to get the job done.

"Our focus needs to continue to be on playing one shot at a time and controlling the controllables in a round of golf. These guys did a tremendous job of handling adverse situations last tournament."
