Bears Host Florida A&M in Two Mid-Week Games

Mercer will face Rattlers for second and third times this season
MACON, Ga. – Mercer will host Florida A&M for a pair of mid-week contests at 6 p.m. Tuesday and 4 p.m. Wednesday at OrthoGeorgia Park.
The Bears (6-1) and Rattlers (2-7) have already played once this season when Mercer earned a 7-6 road victory last Wednesday in Tallahassee. Live stats will be provided for both games.

The Rattlers are 2-7 entering this week's pair of nonconference games in Macon after splitting a four-game series at home against Alcorn State last weekend. Willis McDaniel, who has started all nine games for Florida A&M, leads the team with a .353 batting average. The Rattlers are hitting a collective .258 while their pitching staff owns a 5.04 ERA.

Mercer avoided a late rally by Florida A&M and defeated the Rattlers, 7-6, for its first road win of the season at Moore-Kittles Field on Wednesday.
The Bears (3-1) led by as many as four runs in the fifth inning before Florida A&M (0-5) threatened with five runs over a three-inning stretch of the fifth to seventh frames. Healy, who had a predetermined pitch count entering the game, earned the win after allowing just one run over the first four innings. Leyton Pinckney went 2-for-4 with his first collegiate home run and Kevin Coulter notched his third save of the season.
