Bears Roll Past St. Bonaventure for First Win

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's lacrosse team earned its first win of the season as it defeated St. Bonaventure, 19-6, at Five Star Stadium on Sunday.

Mercer (1-5) opened the match with seven goals and ran away with the dominant 13-point victory at home. Three Bears – Hailey Rhatigan, Eva Thorn and Kendall Garrett – recorded hat tricks while Iseabal Cryne made five saves in goal over 51-plus minutes of action.

Six different Bears netted goals during the Bears' run that opened the contest, including Thorn, who scored twice. Rhatigan bookended her first goal of the game with a pair of assists on scores from Catie Snee and Sami Van Slyke. Mercer led 9-4 at halftime as the Bonnies scored four of the final six goals in the first half.

Another torrid start in the second half helped Mercer pull away from St. Bonaventure. The Bears scored five times in the first six minutes of second-half action, including a man-up goal by Lily Morin. Ten Bears in total scored in Mercer's win.
