
Women's Lacrosse Meets No. 7 Michigan In NCAA Tournament First Round Friday

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's lacrosse team is set to take on the No. 7 seed Michigan Wolverines on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. First draw from U-M Lacrosse Stadium is set for 3 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
Friday's game against the Wolverines will be just the second all-time meeting between Mercer and Michigan. The two teams met two years ago in the 2024 NCAA Tournament First Round in South Bend, Indiana where the Wolverines won, 17-6.
LAST TIME OUT
Caroline Glus and Abby Vane scored five points each to help lead the Mercer women's lacrosse team to a 14-11 win over the High Point Panthers in the Big South Tournament Championship last Sunday from Five Star Stadium in Macon, Georgia.
SCOUTING MICHIGAN
Michigan enters the NCAA Tournament with a 12-6 overall record, having gone, 5-3 in the Big Ten conference. The Wolverines lost No. 1 seed Northwestern, 10-7 in the Big Ten Tournament Championship game.
Michigan is making its sixth NCAA Tournament appearance. The Wolverines are No. 7 in the latest IWLCA Coaches Poll entering the NCAA Tournament. Michigan has beaten six ranked opponents this season, including No. 3 Maryland for the first win over the Terrapins in program history, along with victories over then-No. 5 Florida and then-No. 6 Boston College. U-M also started Big Ten play 4-0 for the first time in program history.
Michigan's backline ranks No. 20 nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 8.61 goals per game after holding Maryland's high-powered offense to four goals. The Wolverines tied a program-best with eight All-Big Ten honorees, including three first-team selections.
Junior attacker Emma Bradbury leads the team with 60 points. Her 43 goals are second on the team to senior attacker Calli Norris who has 44 goals on the season.
Freshman goalie Elizabeth Johnson has started all 18 games in goal for Michigan. She owns a .478 save percentage and a 8.83 goals against average.
