Bears defeat USC Upstate, 5-0, at home

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team extended its win streak to six matches with a 5-0 victory over USC Upstate at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center on Monday.

Mercer (8-7) is now over .500 for the first time this spring and has not lost a match since Feb. 8. It was also the Bears' fifth win at home; they are 5-0 on their home court. Mercer and USC Upstate did not play for the doubles point due to inclement weather. The sixth-seed match was also not finished due to weather. Katie Sidor, Maeva Roquebert, Alara Hollyfield, Celine Schepers and Marie Mottet all picked up straight-set victories in singles play.

The Bears will play their second Southern Conference match of the season at UNCG on Sunday, March 17. The match will begin at 11:30 a.m. in Greensboro, N.C.
