Mercer Seeks Revenge on Tuesday with Georgia Southern

MACON, Ga. – Mercer will look to avenge a 10-run loss to Georgia Southern when it hosts the Eagles in a mid-week clash at 6 p.m. Tuesday at OrthoGeorgia Park.

The Bears (12-13) suffered a 13-3 defeat by Georgia Southern (12-11) in Statesboro on March 6. Tuesday's contest will be the final regular season contest between the two programs this year. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and have live stats available.

The Eagles are 7-5 overall since defeating Mercer in Statesboro on March 6 and are coming off a Sun Belt series win over Little Rock that featured two 12-inning games and 59 total runs. Georgia Southern has additionally gone 1-2 in mid-week contests since its last meeting with Mercer, picking up a win over The Citadel while falling to Georgia Tech and Charleston Southern.

Junior Steven Curry has emerged as the Eagles' top bat and leads the team with a .358 average, 20 runs, 29 hits and 17 RBI. Right-hander Tyler Owens is expected to start on the mound for Georgia Southern.
