Mercer Welcomes Jacksonville State in Home Opener

MACON, Ga. – Mercer (4-0) will play its home opener and first of five straight home matches at Bear Beach when it hosts Jacksonville State at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 29.

NOTABLES

Mercer went 4-0 last weekend at the Huntingdon College Beach Tournament, defeating Huntingdon College (5-0), Webster International (5-0, twice) and Principia College (4-1).
Four Mercer pairings – Amber Gibson/Gracie Garanich (#1), Kacy Ogden/Ellie Merchant (#2), Olivia Boeve/Lela McIntosh (#4) and Elli Gibson/Abigail Moss (#5) went undefeated in all four matches played last weekend.
Amber Gibson and Gracie Garanich took Webster International's first team to the only three-set match of the weekend, going 31-29, 24-26 and 18-16.
The Bears' most recent meeting with Jacksonville State was last season, when Mercer walked away with a 5-0 sweep.

SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE STATE
Jacksonville State (3-4) started the 2019 campaign at the Blazer Beach Bash and the Austin Peay Tournament, where the Gamecocks picked up wins over Huntingdon College (3-2), Missouri Baptist (4-1) and Tusculum (4-1).
