Mercer Women Continue SoCon Slate this Weekend

Bears to face Furman on road before hosting Chattanooga
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team will face a pair of Southern Conference foes this weekend when it travels to Greenville, S.C. to play Furman on Friday before hosting Chattanooga at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center on Sunday.

Friday's road match against the 40th-ranked Paladins will start at 2:30 p.m. (ET) and Sunday's home contest will begin at 2 p.m. (ET). Mercer (10-8, 2-1 SoCon) is in the thick of the conference race and is currently tied for third place with Wofford.

The Paladins enter Friday's contest with a 15-match win streak and are currently ranked 40th nationally. Mercer has never bested Furman, as the Paladins own a 4-0 record in the all-time series, including a 6-1 win in Macon last season. Furman is led by 88th-ranked Katarina Kozarov, who holds a 13-3 record at flight one singles. She and freshman Julia Adams are ranked 40th nationally in doubles.

The Mocs are 7-7 (0-2 SoCon) entering the weekend and will face ETSU at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Johnson City, Tenn. before traveling south to face the Bears. Mercer has lost 11 of 12 all-time matches against the Mocs, having last defeated them on April 9, 2006. Caroline Hall and Emma van Hee lead Chattanooga with 9-5 singles marks this spring.
