Mercer to Face No. 5 Wofford in SoCon Semifinals

Top-seeded Bears & fifth-seeded Terriers will clash at 11 a.m. Friday
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Top-seeded Mercer will face No. 5 seed Wofford in the semifinal round of the 2019 Ingles Southern Conference Women's Basketball Championship presented by General Shale at 11 a.m. Friday at the U.S. Cellular Center.
The Bears (23-7) entered the tournament as the defending champions and defeated No. 8 seed Western Carolina, 55-32, at 11 a.m. Thursday morning in the quarterfinal round. The semifinal contest will be streamed live on ESPN+ and "Voice of the Bears" Rick Cameron will have the call on the Mercer Sports Network. Fans can tune into the Mercer Sports Network on 100.9 FM The Creek or the SportsMic app.

SERIES HISTORY VS. TERRIERS
Mercer is 13-1 in the overall series history against Wofford, including two wins over the Terriers during the regular season. The Bears defeated the Terriers 81-79 in Spartanburg, S.C. before picking up the 65-59 win last week on Senior Day at home.
SCOUTING WOFFORD
The Terriers defeated fourth-seeded ETSU, 75-66, in the second game of Thursday's quarterfinal round in Asheville. Da'Ja Green led Wofford past the Bucs with a team-high 22 points while also adding six rebounds and eight assists. Chloe Wanink was the sole Terrier to earn SoCon First team awards with Green (Second team), Cairo Booker (All-Defensive) and Niyah Lutz (All-Freshman team) earning honors as well.
