Sidor Keeps Rolling in Bears’ Loss to Wofford

Mercer drops a 4-3 SoCon match at home

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team was defeated by Wofford, 4-3, in a Southern Conference match at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.

The Bears (10-12, 2-5 SoCon) owned a 3-2 advantage in the match before Wofford (11-6, 3-2) rallied with wins in No. 2 and No. 3 singles to close out the afternoon.

Katie Sidor improved to 15-5 overall and 6-1 in SoCon play in the No. 1 flight with a 6-2, 6-3 straight-sets win over Jenna Vroman. Mercer also earned singles wins from Marie Mottet (6-1, 6-2) on court No. 4 and Celine Schepers (6-4, 6-1) on court No. 5. Alara Hollyfield and Maeva Roquebert bested Lilie Steryous and Kay Kluska, 6-4, on court No. 2 in doubles action.
