Jonathan Parker earned his first career top-25 finish by tying for first at The Grove

COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. – Sophomore Jonathan Parker of the Mercer men's golf team closed out his fall season on a high note by earning co-champion honors at the Intercollegiate at The Grove on Tuesday.

Parker put together a strong final two days of competition for the Bears, carding a 4-under par in yesterday's first round with a clean card before shooting an even-par 72 in the final round. The Columbus, Ga., native hit some clutch shots down the stretch, birdieing three of the final six holes to earn a share of the top spot.

"I'm proud of Jonathan's efforts this week. Shooting -4 on this course for two rounds is good golf.

"We made progress this week, but we need to be more consistent on a daily basis. I'm confident with some hard off season work we will be much improved as a team in the future."
