Cook played for King’s Ridge Christian School and Atlanta Fire United.
MACON, Ga. – Head women's soccer coach Tony Economopoulos announced the addition of forward and attacking midfielder Kendall Cook for the 2020 season today.
Â
"We're really excited about Kendall," mentioned Economopoulos. "She was supposed to come [to Mercer] in the fall of 2021, but she did well academically to graduate a year early. Having a player of her caliber is going to elevate our team, personnel and depth. Any time that we can get a player with her ability it's a big plus for our program."
Â
Cook will make the two-hour drive from Alpharetta, Ga. to Macon for the fall. She attended King's Ridge Christian School and was a two-sport athlete, playing soccer and running track.
Â
On the pitch, she played three seasons for head coach Jessica Kvam and became one of King's Ridge's most decorated players.
Â
In 2018, Cook was named the Tigers' Team MVP and also earned all-region recognition. As a junior, Cook took home four postseason awards – one team honor, two region honors and a state accolade. Cook was named King's Ridge's Offensive Player of the Year and also earned all-region honors and Region Player of the Year recognition. On the state level, she was named a 2019 Georgia High School All-Star selection.
Â
Cook was named to the 2020 US Youth Soccer ODP Girls 2002-03 National Team and was a 2020 US Youth Soccer ODP NTC Girls selection. She was also invited on the 2020 US Youth Soccer ODP South Girls international trip, which was her second consecutive year receiving the invitation. In 2018, Cook earned a spot on the US Youth Soccer ODP South Region 2002-03 Interregional Team, the US Youth Soccer ODP Girls Interregional All-Star Team and the US Youth Soccer ODP South Region 2001-02 Interregional Team.
Â
The Alpharetta, Ga. native competed on the club circuit with the Atlanta Fire United of Duluth, Ga. for four years. She was named to the 2018-19 ECNL Southeast All-Conference squad and the 2018-19 ECNL Conference Selection Program (CSP) Southeast. The year prior, she was earned an ECNL PDP Southeast nod.
Â
Cook also competed on the track, setting school records in 2018 in the 800-meter run and the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter splits. She was the Tigers' Track Athlete of the Year and ran in the Georgia High School Association State Championship in the 800-meter. She was also a semifinalist in the 400-meter run and a region qualifier in the 4x400-meter relay.
Â
Cook had ample success off the competition surface as well. She was named to the Honor Roll for three years and was a National Honor Society member her senior year. She was involved in numerous extracurricular activities, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Senior Beta, Student Government Council and a mission trip.
Â
She is the daughter of Chad and Jennifer Cook. Her intended major is Pre-Med.Â
