MACON, Ga. – Mercer Women's Basketball Head Coach Susie Gardner announced the hiring of Bryce Dillard as the Director of Player Personnel on Friday afternoon.
"We are excited to welcome Bryce to our program," stated Gardner. "He came highly recommended from everyone at the University of Georgia, and I could sense his passion on his interview. I want good people in our program, and Bryce exhibits all the qualities that we value."
Prior to his arrival at Mercer, Dillard spent the last five years at his alma mater, the University of Georgia. As a graduate assistant with the Lady Bulldogs, Dillard was responsible for scheduling the team's camps by creating a schedule for approximately 100 teams at multiple sites over a three-day period. He also created game clips for individual player development, managed the team's incentive program and helped with the preparation of scouting reports. Additionally, he coached the scout team at practice and helped with multiple aspects of recruit visits.
As a student manager, Dillard was trusted with assisting in practice operations, team equipment, filming and working camps.
Dillard gained valuable coaching experience in 2017 when he worked with Darius Taylor of the Atlanta Dream to help grow the skills of young players in the Athens area as an assistant coach with his AAU program – Team Elite 16U.
Dillard graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's in Sports Management in May 2018 and a Master's in Middle School Education in May 2020.
