MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Bears volleyball team will head to Atlanta to go head-to-head with the Georgia State Panthers Friday night at 6 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
Mercer and Georgia State have met 32 times, with Georgia State taking 26 of them. The last time the two teams met was back in 2016. Mercer took the match 3-0.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Georgia State is coming off a 2-3 loss against UT Chattanooga last Saturday. The Panthers had three players to have double-digit kills; Meisheia Griffin (21), Leah Wilcox (20), and Dzemila Hadzic (10). Senior setter Jordan Shoemaker registered 56 assists on Saturday. Leah Wilcox was the only player to register a double-double with 20 kills and 14 digs. The Panthers are led by head coach Sally Polhamus who enters her seventh season at the helm.

NOTABLES

Three Bears registered double digit kills on Saturday against The Citadel; Annie Karle (14), Brittany Major (14), and Jaida Howell (10).
Newcomer Rayanne de Oliveira led the team with five service aces on the match.
Head Coach Dex Schroeder registered his 210^th career win, 41^st at Mercer.
Nya Steele recorded 36 assists during the match, bringing her career total to 1,821.
