Mercer to Host Samford to Open Conference Play

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Bears volleyball team will begin their conference slate by hosting the Samford Bulldogs Sunday and Monday. Sunday's match is set for 3 p.m. and Monday's is set for 6 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 41^st and 42^nd meeting between the Bears and the Bulldogs. Samford has taken 32 of meetings, while Mercer has eight.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
The Bulldogs finished the 2019 season with a 24-6 overall record, 15-1 in conference. The Bulldogs captured the 2019 Southern Conference Championship with a 3-2 win over ETSU. Samford welcomes six new faces to the squad. Lauren Deaton returns as a junior. Deaton was second in kills behind Kelsie Hobbs in the 2019 season. Corrine Meglic was the go to setter for the Bulldogs, recording 1,295 assists last season. Keylor Chan enters his fifth season as head coach for the Bulldogs.
