
Team Orange Claims Game One Of World Series

Team Orange takes 1-0 series lead in Orange and Black World Series
MACON, Ga. – Team Orange claimed game one of the Orange and Black World Series to jump out to a 1-0 series lead. Team Orange took down Team Black by a score of 7-3.

Trevor Rider (1-3) started the scoring for Team Orange when he hit a solo homerun in the second inning. Colby Thomas (1-2) added to the lead when he blasted a solo homer of his own.

Jackson Cherry (2-3) was determined to not let Team Orange have all of the fun, so he sent a three-run bomb out of the park to give Team Black their first lead of the game.

Team Orange made their move in the bottom of the sixth when a double steal put runners in scoring position on second and third. A strikeout wild pitch allowed the tying run to score. Tony Brown (2-3) tallied a base hit to score the go ahead run. Back-to-back doubles by Sam Stewart and Caleb Ellard added to the score to total five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Walt Thomas collects the win for Team Orange with Beau Healy earning the save. Josh Harlow started off the game by pitching three scoreless innings, striking out five. Â Garrett Sloan is credited with the loss.

Game two is set for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27 at OrthoGeorgia Park.
