Men finished 8th, Women 11th

Fairburn, Ga. – The Mercer cross country program finished in 8^th (men) and 11^th (women) at the Alexander/Asics Invitational on Saturday morning.

"I believe we are right on the cusp of achieving the great things we are seeking out", said head coach Josh Hayman. "I'm proud of the effort but it wasn't exactly what we went out for. Hard work pays off and know that we are fit and are so close to having that perfect race."

WOMEN'S RACE (5K)
For the third straight race, Laney Doster led the Bears with a 15^th place finish. Doster cut almost 10 seconds off her time, finishing in 18:45.81. Three other Bears finished in the top 100. Giulia Giorgi finished second for the Bears, 61^st overall (19:42.92). Ashley McMahon came in third (89^th, 20:03.74) and Jaycie Calvert finished fourth for the Bears (94, 20:08.40) Reece Robertson placed 103^rd overall with a time of 20:24.69. The women placed 11^th with 296 total points.

MEN'S RACE (8K)
Vladi Zander-Velloso led the Bears with an 18^th place overall finish and a time of 25:58.78. Reece Cato finished second, 44^th overall (26:25.63). Jonathan Greene and Connor Kaufman placed 48^th(26:32.96) and 49^th(26:33.85) overall, respectively. Josh Kraver ranked 57^th with a 26:51.09 finish. Two other Bears, Sebasthian Rodriquez (88) and Chinmay Dongari (99) placed in the top 100.
