Strong Second Round Puts Mercer in Fourth at Pinetree

Lauren Lightfritz shot a career-best 67 in the second round

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Mercer women's golf team finds itself in fourth place at the Pinetree Women's Collegiate after a strong second round on Monday from the Pinetree Country Club.

Graduate student Lauren Lightfritz put together a personal-best 5-under par 67 in the second round to finish the first day of the tournament tied for fourth at 1-under par. Payton Schanen (+5) and Eujin Pyon (+6) are also in the top-20 headed into the final round with Schanen tied for 16th and Pyon tied for 20th.

Mercer closes out play at the Pinetree Women's Collegiate with the third and final round on Tuesday. The Bears will remain paired up with Florida State and Penn State and will once again tee off from the first through fifth holes during the 9 a.m. shotgun start, with the exception of Eujin Pyon who will start on the seventh tee box.
